Joe Singh the Chair for the Suva Earthquake Risk Management Committee in his address at the launching of the National Disaster Awareness Week in Suva today, said that with the unpredictability of the weather and Fiji being vulnerable to tsunamis and any freak shows of nature, hospitals need to be prepared.
With the current emphasis put on professional shortage in the medical field and the increase in the number of dengue cases, Singh adds that being prepared for any natural disaster is the responsibility of all in society.
National Disaster Awareness week starts today and will end on Thursday.
