The void of Kurtley Beale is something the Waratahs have repeatedly said cannot be filled, but David Horwitz will be given the duty of replacing him at second five‑eighth against the Crusaders.

Horwitz was the favourite to take over Beale at No12 and it is understood coach Daryl Gibson will stick with the 21‑year‑old who has started in four of the Waratahs' 10 games this year.

Gibson will keep the faith with Horwitz, a young player backed by winger Rob Horne, who himself has also spent time at second receiver during his career.

The Waratahs play the Crusaders at 7.35pm Friday.
