Wallabies skipper James Horwill has been ruled out of Saturday night’s Rugby Championship clash with South Africa due to a hamstring injury.

Horwill will be sidelined for two weeks and has left a dent to Australia's hopes of turning around their losing start to the championship.

Halfback Will Genia will take over the captaincy role while Kane Douglas has been promoted to fill Horwill’s place in the second-row alongside Rob Simmons.

Wallabies will face South Africa at 10.05pm Saturday.
