Mahogany landowners of the Mataqali Rara in Vugalei hope that the Land Ministry Survey team completes the survey on the 38 hectares of ancestral land that was been given back to them last year so that they can harvest their mahogany.

Mataqali Head, Jovilisi Kedrayate said the survey team are yet to complete work on the site, adding that once the survey work has been completed, the title will then be given to them, allowing the logging of mahogany trees to start.

Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama in his New Year's message stated that the return of the 38 hectares of land to the Mataqali Rara was one of the regime's achievements last year.
