The Suva Rugby Union has today confirmed that the Hong Kong Rugby Union will send its national 7s team to the Digicel Suva Rugby Festival in January, strengthening rugby ties between the two countries that date back to the 1950s.

Suva Rugby Chairman Vilikesa Rauca said the HKRFU has always invited the Digicel Fiji 7s team to the Hong Kong 7s since 1976, and their presence will allow us to reciprocate and welcome the Hong Kong boys to Fiji.

Hong Kong coach, Dai Rees said that the invite from the Suva Rugby Union is an ideal preparation for their team to the upcoming Hong Kong 7s.

Meanwhile, Kenya and South Africa are still yet to confirm their participation.

The Suva 7s Series kicks off in Suva on November 6-7 before moving to Lautoka on December 11-12 and Labasa on January 8-9.

The winners and runners-up of each tournament will qualify for the International 7s of the Digicel Suva Rugby Festival in January 2010.
