Nick Cummins, aka the Honey Badger, returned to training with the Australian 7s team as he aims for Hong Kong call-up.
Cummins has taken part in his first Australia Sevens training session in six years as he makes a bid for the Olympics.
Cummins, renowned for his quick wit and entertaining post match interviews, last played sevens for his country back in 2010 at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
The 28-year-old is aiming for a call-up at either Hong Kong or Singapore on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, with a long-term view of making it into head coach Andy Friend’s Olympic squad for Rio 2016.
The Honey Badger took part in a gruelling two-hour session with the squad last week but believes he is nearly there in terms of fitness.
Australia is in pool C with USA, Argentina, and Portugal.
Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team is expected to be named this Thursday.
The Hong Kong 7s will be held next Friday to Sunday.
