Police have managed to arrest the van driver who fled the scene after killing a class six student of Tacirua Primary School yesterday morning.
Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said the driver who is from Suva was arrested after a tip off.
He is currently being questioned by officers at the Valelevu Police Station.
The 11 year old was crossing the road when the vehicle hit him and did not stop.
The road death toll now stands at 18 compared to 22 last year.
