Millions of Hindu's around the world and thousands in Fiji belonging to Sanatan Dharam will start celebrating the birth of Lord Rama from this evening for eight nights.

Over the next eight days, Hindus mark Ram Naumi through prayers and hymns and fasting before the end of the festival which is celebrated on Lord Rama's birthday next Monday at midday.

Lord Rama set an example for obeying parents wishes without question, after he chose to go into exile for 14 years as his step mother wanted her son to become the King of Ayodhya and asked her husband that Lord Rama be exiled.
