Holi, to be celebrated on Monday, is known as the festival of colours, one where people play with and spray different colours on each other and around the place.
However, Indian College newly inducted Head Boy Nikhil Pritesh Kumar said the festival is not only about the different colours in its literal sense but the different colours as a representation of different people, races and religions coming together as one.
Kumar said this unity is represented at his school when everyone irrespective of race and religion takes part in Holi celebrations.
Non-Hindu students say Holi, like other upcoming celebrations Prophet Mohammed=s birthday and Easter, is a uniting time.
Indian College yesterday celebrated both Prophet Mohammed=s birthday and Holi festival with their prefects induction and entertainment from the students.
Holi and Prophet Mohammed=s birthday will be celebrated by the country on Monday.
