Wet and windy conditions will force the Highlanders to adapt their game plan for their Super Rugby quarterfinal against the Brumbies.

Rain, dew and a blustery breeze are predicted for Canberra tonight, meaning the southerners will struggle to play at the same fast tempo which helped them beat the Chiefs last week.

However Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph says the team are well equipped to deal with the conditions.

Meanwhile a few eyebrows were raised when Luke Woodcock was moved from No 8 to start at lock, with Liam Squire filling the spot at the back of the scrum.

Joseph says that the move would not make them vulnerable to the rolling maul.

The Brumbies will host the Highlanders at 8.05 tonight.

In other quarters, the Hurricanes play the Sharks at 7.35pm tomorrow, the Stormers will face the Chiefs at 5am Sunday while the Lions will host the Crusaders at 2.30am.
