Highlanders prop Jamie Mackintosh is expected to be sidelined for the next six weeks of the Super 14 season.
Mackintosh twisted his knee in the season opening loss to the Brumbies and it initially hoped he would be back to face the Waratahs in Sydney this weekend.
Fellow All Black Jimmy Cowan will also be out of action for at least another week, because of an elbow injury.
Meanwhile in this week's Super 14 matches, the Crusaders plays the Hurricanes in Christchurch on Friday at 6:35pm. At 8:40pm Waratahs meets the Highlanders in Sydney.
On Saturday at 6:35pm the Chiefs meets the Sharks in Hamilton and then at 8:40pm the Brumbies hosts the Force.
Early Sunday morning at 3am, the Lions play the Bulls, at 5:10am the Stormers takes on the Blues and at 6pm on Sunday the Reds meets the Cheetahs in Brisbane.
