There is a huge sense of relief for the Highlanders after finally snapping their eight game losing run in the Super rugby.

They beat the Sharks 25 22 in Dunedin following an 18 point run after halftime.

Halfback Aaron Smith said when the Sharks got back within three, he was desperate for them to close it out.

Elsewhere, the Reds were held to an 11-all draw by the Force, the Waratahs hammered the Kings 72-10, scoring 11 tries in the process.

In a match played this morning, the Bulls beat the Hurricanes 48-14.

Meanwhile, at 6.05pm today, the Brumbies will take on the Crusaders.
