The Highlanders earned a 44-7 bonus point victory over the Blues last night to potentially set up a home Super Rugby qualifying final in Dunedin.
The Highlanders needed a bonus point victory to move ahead of the Chiefs who will now be under pressure to do the same or drop behind the Highlanders in the standings.
After beating the Blues by a record score the Highlanders will now have to sit back and wait for other results to find out if they have a home qualifying final next week.
In one other match, last night the Western Force held on to beat the Rebels 13‑11 and end a six match away losing streak in Melbourne.
The result was not enough to move the Force above the Blues so they finish the season in last place with three wins.
The teams that have qualified for the playoffs are the Hurricanes, Waratahs, Stormers, Chiefs, Highlanders and Brumbies.
In the matches today, the Brumbies will host the Crusaders at 5.30pm, the Chiefs will host the Hurricanes at 7.35pm while the Waratahs will face the Reds at 9.40pm.
Tomorrow the Bulls will take on the Cheetahs at 3.05am while the Sharks will face the Stormers at 5.10am.
