The Highlanders have been boosted by the inclusion of former All Blacks lock forward Jarrad Hoeata for tomorrow night's Super Rugby clash with the Melbourne Rebels.

Also making a return is All Black loose forward Adam Thomson who is expected to wear the No 7 jersey after missing last week's loss to the Brumbies that also cost the Highlanders their star play maker Colin Slade with a season-ending broken ankle.

Hoeata, who made his All Blacks debut last year, gets his first taste of action this season after battling back from a chest injury.

Highlanders will host the Rebels at 6:35pm tomorrow.
