There is a high possibility that the tropical depression which is currently located to the west of Fiji will intensify into a tropical cyclone by late tomorrow.

At this stage, the expected path of the system remains uncertain but areas most at risk will be Western Viti Levu, the Mamanucas and the Yasawas.

Nadi Weather Office director Alipate Waqaicelua said heavy rain is expected from today and they are now conducting assessments on water and river levels with the Hydrology Department.
