The Suva City Council has confirmed that the Hibiscus Festival Committee has started a major cleanup of the Albert Park from this morning.
Town Clerk, Ili-tomasi Verenakadavu said their health department officials are monitoring the clean up. He added that the stalls are now being dismantled and contractors for the committee have started their work.
He believes the cleanup will be completed by tomorrow.
Concerns were raised on Monday by Mayor Ratu Peni Volavola that Hibiscus Festival Committee failed to adhere to the agreement made between them.
