Henry says win would bring eternal peace
Henry’s comments were light-hearted but served to highlight the fact that the pressure top coaches are under, the praise and criticism they receive, impacts also on their families.
Asked on what a World Cup victory would mean to his family, Henry replied “Peace. Inner, eternal peace.”
Henry seemed relaxed and affable only two days out from a World Cup final which will likely define his seven-year All Blacks coaching career against a side that ended his dream 4 years ago.
On the other side is French coach, 42-year-old Marc Lievremont born in Senegal, the son of a French army man.
Twelve years ago he was a member of the French team which beat the All Blacks in the World Cup semifinal at Twickenham, a match which many believed was the best they had ever seen.
Lievremont was merely an extremely resolute flanker but the glory of it is still runs in his blood.
The All Blacks will play France on Sunday at 9pm in the RWC final and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM with Malakai Veisamasama and Ilivasi Tabua.
At 7.30pm this evening, the Wallabies play Wales in the bronze playoff.
