All Blacks coach Graham Henry said he’s playing it safe when it comes to the fitness of three of his star players.

Richie McCaw and Mils Muliaina were ruled out against Japan tonight with leg injuries, while Israel Dagg was unavailable for selection due to a side strain.

Their withdrawals follow that of Dan Carter.

Henry says he’s not worried at all about the spate of the injuries although some are of thinking that the withdrawals are about saving players for the French game next week.

Tonight at 8pm, New Zealand will play against Japan in a Pool A match.

In last night’s results USA beat Russia 13-6.
