As the festive season approaches, members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wainadoi are on a mission to bring smiles to those in the Wainadoi/Nabukavesi community who are struggling to survive and trying to make ends meet on a daily basis.

Member of the church Ravuni Uluilakeba said they started off with the initiative last week by having free health checks based on the fact that the less fortunate in the community find difficulties in accessing proper health facilities at times.

Last Sunday they served more than 120 people and the four doctors who are members of the church assisted in blood pressure checkups, blood tests, dental treatment and had general sessions on understanding the basic health needs.

This Sunday, after carrying out earlier assessments that many families with widows and single mothers need help, Uluilakeba said they have joined hands with TFL, Total Event Company, Pasifika and CJ Patel to provide 50 baskets of groceries to these families.
