It was height advantage across the court which enabled Fiji to cast political dramas aside by opening its campaign with a 61-32 thumping of Singapore at the World Netball Championship.

The Vilimaina Davu coached side dwarfed the skilled but slight Singaporeans in every facet as they set themselves up for a Pool C defining clash with tournament third seed Jamaica tonight.

Davu was happy with the performance and said more improvement is needed as they cannot make silly mistakes against the third ranked Jamaicans.

Davu said beating Jamaica tonight is their top priority as they will try to avoid meeting Australia in the quarterfinals.

The Fiji/Jamaica match will kick off today at 7:10pm.

Meanwhile, in the opening round yesterday, Australia beat Samoa 82-26, Jamaica defeated the Cook Islands 71-29, England beat Barbados 87-34, South Africa outclassed Malaysia 67-28 and New Zealand on Saturday defeated Malawi 85-26.
