The Nadi Weather office has predicted some localised flooding later this afternoon in Central/Eastern Division due to heavy rainfall.

Director Rajendra Prasad said the flash floodings will not be on a large scale however it may only be due to poor drainage.

Suva received over 86mm of rainfall which was the highest in the last 24 hours.

He adds Suva and Navua may receive more rainfall, heavier at times in the afternoon as a trough of low pressure remains slow moving in the South/Eastern parts of the country.

Prasad said the moist conditions in the country is also contributing factor to the rainfall.

The wet weather may continue through the weekend.
