A heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of the Fiji group as a Tropical Depression is located just to the West of Fiji which is moving eastwards towards the group.
The weather forecasters say at 3am the Tropical Depression was located West North West of Nadi at about 90 km and is expected to intensify further and develop into a Tropical cyclone later in the week.
Another depression located East South East of Nadi around 25 km at around midnight is weakening and is expected to die out later today.
Associated trough of low pressure also lies over Fiji.
Associated active rain bands and strong winds is expected to affect the group today.
For Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and Western half of Viti Levu, Strong north to southeast winds with average speed of 45km/hr and momentary gust to 70km/hr is expected. Seas expected to be rough.
Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
