As we enter into the second night of continuous heavy rain, a flash flood warning remains in place for the central, eastern and northern division.
The Nadi Weather Office said the current rainy weather experienced in the western and central division will continue through tonight.
For the moment, it has stopped raining in Sigatoka and flood waters have started receding.
The chairman of the Local Rural Authority Ratu Jolame Lewenivanua said that clouds are clearing and they are keeping their fingers crossed that it does not rain tonight.
Meanwhile, Sigatoka farmer Inoke said that they had to spend last night at another person’s house due to flooding.
Another farmer from Kavanagasau, Jim, told Fijivillage that they had to sleep in their trucks to guard their produce as they could not go home.
