Heavy rain has resulted in flash flooding in some parts of Tailevu areas as a flash flood warning is in place for low lying areas in the Eastern to North eastern parts of the larger islands.
The Nabilo River burst its banks last night and water is currently rising.
A resident from Nabilo, Tailevu, Rajnesh Kumar said 16 houses have been surrounded by flood waters.
Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad said a trough of low pressure approaching Fiji is expected to bring heavy rain in most parts of the country today.
