Heavy rain has caused a landslide in Namosi this morning.
Works Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said the road is now closed to all traffic until further notice.
And people living in flood prone areas in the Central division are being urged to be vigilant as heavy rain could cause flash flooding later today.
Waqainabete said the Waidina river in Naitasiri is rising rapidly and water levels have reached the bottom on the old Naqali bridge.
She said they expect further flooding of roads and bridges in the area later today and landslides are also possible.
Several areas in Tailevu and Rewa delta are prone to flooding and residents are advised to take heed of the current weather conditions as continuous heavy rain is expected to cause flash flood in these areas today.
The continuous heavy downpour in the Central division also led to flooding in parts of the greater Suva area over night.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said some areas between Veisari to Suva Point were flooded and a family from Veisari was also evacuated at around 11 o'clock last night by police officers.
Police also say that with the long weekend upon us, there will be great movement of traffic because of the IDC in Suva and the Farebrother match in Sigatoka tomorrow and driver are urged to drive with care.
