People in low lying areas are still being asked to take precaution as rain is expected to continue in parts around the country while they have also been asked to avoid crossing flooded rivers and streams for their own safety.

The Nadi Weather Office said this weather is due to a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain that remains slow moving over the southeastern parts of the Fiji group.

Due to heavy rainfall last night and this morning some roads have been closed to all traffic.

Assistant Police Spokesperson, Sergent Suliano Tevita said the old Naqali bridge, Waima Bridge and Naivucini Bridge on the way to Naluwai are closed to all traffic as it is under water.

Tevita said rainfall continues in Naitasiri.

Meanwhile, all roads in Rakiraki are now open.
