The continuous heavy downpour in the Central division led to flooding in parts of the greater Suva area over night.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said some areas between Veisari to Suva Point were flooded and a family from Veisari was also evacuated at around 11 o'clock last night by police officers.
Water levels have receded but a number of roads are still heavily water logged due to poor drainage and Inspector Sokomuri has also requested motorist to take extra precautions.
Sokomuri said that also the long weekend upon us, there will be great movement of traffic because of the IDC in Suva and the Farebrother match in Sigatoka tomorrow and driver are urged to drive with care.
Meanwhile, the Education minister is awaiting a report from the weather office before deciding on whether schools in the Central division should open for classes today.
Minister Filipe Bole said at this stage he cannot make any decisions on whether schools should be closed.
Parents in the central division are also advised to use their own discretion before deciding to send your children to school.
