A strong wind warning for all land areas and a heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole of the country.
The Nadi Weather Office says the low pressure system approaching Fiji has now developed into a Tropical Disturbance.
It was located about 520 kilometres North of Nadi earlier this afternoon.
It is expected to gradually deepen and move towards the group from later tomorrow.
The Weather Office says the system is expected to become a tropical depression tomorrow and move towards Fiji.
This means heavy rain and winds will intensify from later tomorrow.
The Weather Office says at this stage, the system has a low to moderate 20 to 50 percent chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over Fiji waters.
The outlook for the whole of Fiji is heavy rain over most places. Isolated thunderstorms are also likely.
People are advised that localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding.
Please be mindful of this if you are living in low lying areas.
An associated trough of low pressure affects the group.
Expect heavy rain over most places including Suva, Navua, Nausori, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Labasa and Savusavu.
Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls are also expected.
Rain will become frequent and heavy from later tomorrow.
