Residents in the Nasinu area are currently experiencing heavy downpour at the moment and Dhiren Prasad, Deputy Mayor of Nasinu, said that this has led to flooding in the area.
Prasad added that they have opened the Narere Primary School to house residents who are affected by the flood.
Nadi town resident Avinesh Reddy said many houses near Nadi River are under flood waters as water in Nadi Town continue to rise.
He added some people are still trying to get out of Nadi Town.
A resident of Malolo, Nadi, Avinesh Kumar is blaming the PWD workers for flash floods in their area as about 30 houses are under flood waters in Transmeter Road.
Nadi, Narewa villager, Kalesi Dawai said that the situation at hand is no different from yesterday.
A Lautoka resident is living in fear this afternoon as his house is about to collapse in flood waters.
Vivek Prasad of Vitoqo, Lautoka, told Fijivillage that he built his house far away from a drain, however, due to soil erosion, the drain got wider and now there is the threat of his home collapsing.
The Prasad family has vacated their home and is now staying with neighbours.
Amal Kumar, a resident of Koronubu, Ba, said he is preparing to leave his house with his family as flood waters are about to enter his home.
Ba, Rarawai Resident, Ramend Dutt said it is flooded where he is right now and it’s getting worse adding this is the worst flood he has ever seen.
Heavy downpour is currently being experienced in Korovou.
According to our reporter Penijamini Seru who is stranded in Korovou Town, he stated that the water level in the Wainivesi River is rising rapidly and is urging people to move to higher ground.
