Vivek Prasad of Vitoqo, Lautoka, told Fijivillage that he built his house far away from a drain, however, due to soil erosion, the drain got wider and now there is the threat of his home collapsing.
The Prasad family has vacated their home and is now staying with neighbours.
Amal Kumar, a resident of Koronubu, Ba, said he is preparing to leave his house with his family as flood waters are about to enter his home.
Ba, Rarawai Resident, Ramend Dutt said it is flooded where he is right now and it’s getting worse adding this is the worst flood he has ever seen.
Heavy downpour is currently being experienced in Korovou.
According to our reporter Penijamini Seru who is stranded in Korovou Town, he stated that the water level in the Wainivesi River is rising rapidly and is urging people to move to higher ground.
