The Nadi Weather office said last night’s heavy rainfall in the Central Division was due to the trough of low pressure over the group and moisture in the air.

There were some localised flash flooding in low-lying areas between Navua and Nausori however water has receded quickly.

Duty Forecaster said a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers to the southwest of Fiji is gradually slipping southeastwards, away from the group.

Occasional showers and possibly a few thunderstorms is still expected over Southwest Viti Levu, Kadavu and the Southern Lau group, easing today.
