As we approach nightfall within the next few hours, people living near the Navua and Rewa rivers are advised to take precautions as flash flooding is expected in the low lying areas.
Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad said heavy rain is expected although rain has eased for a while at the moment.
Prasad also said people living near the Rewa River need to mindful of the rising level of the river.
The National DISMAC office will reactivate evacuation centres if the situation worsens and people's lives are affected.
Principal DISMAC officer Patiliai Dobui said the District Officers around the Central Division have identified some places to be utilized as evacuation centres.
