The Nadi Weather Office has confirmed that a flash flood warning is in place for Vanua Levu and Taveuni and the Lau group today.

Weather forecasters said the trough of low pressure is now lying over the north of the group which is now moving north-east which is expected to bring in occasional heavy rain in the north-eastern parts of the country.

The central division may also receive heavy rain later today.

People living in low-lying areas have been advised to take precautions.

Meanwhile, Korovou police have confirmed this morning that the Kings Highway at Nayavu is now open to all traffic as rain eased last night.

Police said a bus which was stuck near Rakiraki due to flooding reached Nausori safely last night.

Police have called on motorists to take precautions while using the Kings Road.
