The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji James Batley today comforted a 15 year old heart patient at the CWM Hospital by telling him that he himself had to go through the same operation when he was a kid.
Batley while telling the Kadavu boy, Joni Saru, how good the Australian cardiac team is, said that he also had a heart problem and had to go through surgery at the age of 5 but grew up into a healthy person.
Batley who visited the cardiac team and the patients this morning congratulated the team for their successful work.
The Australian cardiac team will be operating on 51 patients out of which 28 are adults and 23 children.
The pediatric team arrives in the country today to operate on the children.
The team from the Sydney Adventist Hospital is providing free surgery.
