Health team sent to Nadi
This is after the National Swine Flu Taskforce were informed by their New Zealand counterparts that they have two people who were suspected to have Swine Flu, who travelled to Fiji on the 26th of April.
Spokesperson Iliesa Tora revealed that one of the travelers has already returned to NZ while the second traveler is under surveillance at the Lautoka Hospital.
The traveler is being monitored however there are no symptom of the disease and the person is expected to fly out of the country this morning.
According to the National Taskforce, Phase 5 of the Swine Flu Awareness stands at the point where there is now a nationwide possibility of the spread of human to human influenza.
Meanwhile, in Mexico, the suspected death toll from the swine flu has risen to 176, in NZ there are 13 probable cases with 3 confirmed, 1 death in the US with 109 confirmed cases in 11 states, the Netherlands have just confirmed their first case of swine flu, cases have also been confirmed in Switzerland, Costa Rica and Cairo.
