The Health Ministry is hopeful that the Interim Government will allocate over $150 million for next year's National Budget.

Permanent Secretary Dr. Lepani Waqatakirewa said health should also be given priority as it needs improvement.

The interim government allocated $150.8 million in this year’s revised budget for the Health Ministry.

The Fiji Teachers Union has called on the Interim Finance Minister to stick to his promise that Civil servants will be paid the four percent pay cut for next year’s National budget.

Union's General Secretary, Agni Deo Singh said while the Interim Government has a lot to do in other areas, it should not forget about the educators and the full restoration should be made.

The Public Employers Union wants an increased allocation in the 2008 budget.

General Secretary, Pita Delana said they would like to see provisions made towards their 5% pay which was deducted earlier this year.
