The Ministry of Health, has resolved queries made by the Auditor General in 2008 regarding certain staff by adopting appropriate actions.

The actions that amounted in some cases to warning letters, surcharge and other disciplinary measures were made within the period 2009 to this year.
 
A Statement shows that all 55 cases have been dealt with and some cases have been referred to Police, FICAC or the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority.
 
In mid 2010, the Ministry submitted to Cabinet all actions that had been carried out to resolve these matters.
 
The Financial Management System of the ministry is being upgraded in line with that of other Government Ministries so as to control over expenditures and mismanagement.
 
With regards to the $65,000 salary recovery highlighted in one of the dailies recently, the ministry states that procedures have been put in place to serve as corrective measures.
