For the first time ever in Fiji's history, the Health Ministry has organised a two day National Health systems Research Workshop where doctors get to present their research papers with evidence.
The Health Minister, Doctor Neil Sharma said both policy and research in the Pacific is very weak.
He said the health service management, public health, curative health and many other staff have been trained in an attempt for them to write research papers and this workshop will see a presentation of their work.
Dr Sharma said after seeing the Fiji School of Medicine's capacity in research work, he has requested the Public Health Department to undertake research in Typhoid, Dengue Fever and Leptospirosis in Fiji.
