The Ministry of Health is on its toes as Diwali and Christmas will see people consuming more sweets and fatty food leading to many diseases such as diabetes and having high level of cholesterol.

The Ministry is launching the National Non-Communicable Diseases Week tomorrow where people will be called to adopt a healthy lifestyle for better health with a Walk and Move for Health event held at 5.30am.

The FMF Flying Fijians Rugby Team, prominent Fiji citizens, sports stars and the health conscious will be taking part in the Program at the Laucala Sports City Complex.

The Ministry is also calling on churches to tell people about health issues from the pulpit this Sunday. A statement from the Ministry shows that more and more people in the country are getting into the unhealthy habits, more people are suffering from NCD's mainly diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, heart attacks and stroke and there is an urgent need for people to take their health in their hands and live a healthy live.
