The Ministry of Health has a new HIV Aids Tester machine which will monitor the effectiveness of treatment for people living with HIV in the country.
The machine was donated by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community which will be based at the Mataika lab.
SPC HIV Programme Coordinator Dr Dennie Inikawala said it is important to test and produced results which are valid and accurate on HIV so the machine will be very useful in Fiji.
Meanwhile according to Dr Eric Rafai from Mataika House in Tamavua, there are 333 confirmed HIV cases in the country.
