The Health Ministry has declared August as the National Oral Health Month in the Country in conjunction with the Fiji Dental Association, Fiji School of Medicine and Colgate Palmolive.

The President of the Fiji Dental Association, Dr Abdul Gani said this is the second year this has been organised to raise awareness amongst people as dental problems are increasing.

Dr Gani said during the campaign, free dental checks will be carried out in selected private dental clinics and selected supermarkets every Saturday and FSM students based at several places in Suva, Nadi and Lautoka will provide people with oral hygiene advice.

Dr Rabbit, Colgate's Mascot will make an appearance at various schools and supermarkets with toothbrush and toothpaste giveaways.
