The Health Ministry will be asking the Finance Ministry to release more funds to cater for the retired nurses already been rostered for duties as the nurses strike continues.
In its latest situational report, the Ministry said the doctors are also anticipated to claim for overtime payments as they are now working longer hours.
According to the Ministry although the nurses are on strike, the hospitals and health centres which are open in the three divisions in the country are coping well although most of the nurses are on strike.
The Health Ministry states that it has not engaged any volunteers in the Health Services as yet however they will be considered if the need arises.
