The Health Ministry has acknowledged the Education Ministry on their measures to raise HIV awareness and reproductive health to younger children.
Recently, the Education Ministry stressed that they promote abstinence as preventative measures and will be looking at introducing reproductive health starting from class three, after revelations that twenty one news cases of HIV were recorded for the month of June.
Health Ministry's Adolescent Health and Development Project Officer Sister Sulueti Duvaga said it is beneficial for young people to know the information early.
Duvaga added that from their survey students often look forward to family life education as they can discuss it with their peers.
