The Ministry of Health stresses that the Dengue outbreak is not over yet.

Director Primary Health Services Dr. Losevata Alefaio confirmed to Fijivillage News that while the threat of the outbreak still persists, the number of reported cases is definitely declining and as yet midday today there were a total 2127 cases that have been reported since the outbreak was declared on September 2nd.

Dr. Alefaio said there were 69 confirmed cases in the Northern division, 693 in the West and 1365 cases of dengue in the Central/Eastern Division.

The Health Ministry is once again calling on people to be vigilant in taking precautions against being bitten by mosquitoes to prevent contracting dengue fever.
