With just days remaining for the 2012 National Budget to be announced, the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation is hoping that more growth initiatives are announced and the less fortunate are assisted through a public and private sector partnership.

CEO Nesbitt Hazelman said one of the areas that they are proposing is for the government to set up economic zones in the North West areas of Viti Levu and have targeted assistance for businesses like the manufacturing sector.

Hazelman said with the Kings Highway almost complete, all the areas along the highway now have connectivity and the infrastructure, and many people in the areas will benefit with businesses setting up there and providing jobs.
