Plans are already underway for the family members of Jarryd Hayne to get together to watch the New South Wales fullback take on Queensland in the State of Origin opener next Wednesday.
Speaking to Fijivillage Hayne’s aunt, Loma Tokalautawa said they were happy when they received the news last night and a family get together will be organized to watch their star in action.
Hayne who is from Cikobia in Macuata last visited the country in 2012 to attend his grandmother’s funeral.
The 26-year-old made his debut for New South Wales in 2007 and has scored eight tries in 17 origin matches.
Hayne will play alongside star players like Paul Gallen, Brett Morris, Josh Morris, Robbie Farah and Michael Jennings.
The Blues will take on the Maroons at 10pm next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in the NRL the Bulldogs will take on the Roosters at 9.40pm this Friday.
