Jarryd Hayne will now face six weeks of intense training to prove to coach Ben Ryan that he is good enough to represent Fiji at the Rio Olympics.

With only a few minutes of game time at the London 7s, Hayne will now have to prove that he is good enough to replace any of the core players in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.

Hayne has admitted that he has a lot of work to do and said the Fiji 7s team has a bunch of superstars who are going to be a joy to train with and a joy to play with.

He said it’s not about success, but about the experience and just being part of the team.

Hayne also said that it’s not about coming over and making the team, it’s about giving him an opportunity to make the team.

Coach, Ben Ryan is expected to announce a squad of 24 to meet for an intensive six‑week training camp next month.

Meanwhile, a celebration for the Vodafone Fiji 7s team’s back-to-back HSBC World 7s series title wins will be held tomorrow at Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva.

It is organised by the team’s major sponsor, Vodafone Fiji.

The celebration will start at 3pm tomorrow.

The Fiji 7s team is also expected to get a total bonus payment of $75,000 from their sponsors.

Fiji retained the 2015/2016 World Sevens Series title with 181 points.
