Former Fiji Bati fullback Jarryd Hayne was in devastating form for Australia as he scored four tries to help the Kangaroos thrash USA 62-nil in their Rugby League World Cup quarter final this morning.

Hayne got his side off to the perfect start within the opening three minutes.

Also Brett Morris scored four tries and together with Hayne they become the fifth and sixth Australians to score four tries in a World Cup game.

But the win was overshadowed by an injury to fullback Billy Slater who had to leave the field in the second half after aggravating a knee problem.

Australia will play either the Vodafone Fiji Bati or Samoa in the semifinals who meet each other tomorrow morning at 4am.

In the next hour England will meet France and the winner will play New Zealand in the other semi.
