Hayne named to start against Vodafone Fiji Bati
Hayne has been named on the right wing while his preferred position at fullback has been taken up by Greg Inglis.
Others called into the side are Josh Morris, Michael Jennings and Nate Myles, after they all missed the selection against England in Cardiff.
Despite Slater saying he wanted to face Fiji, Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens has opted to rest the Melbourne star and the coach hopes a move to fullback will spark Inglis after he saw little ball playing in the centres against England.
The Vodafone Fiji Bati will play the Australian Kangaroos this Sunday at 9am.
Meanwhile, the USA created history by beating the Cook Islands 32-20 this morning for a debut victory in their first Rugby League World Cup match.
