Jarryd Hayne has evaded questions about returning to the NRL, saying he is just taking baby steps after quitting the NFL to seek a rugby sevens Olympics berth with Fiji.
Hayne has arrived in London to join the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.
He told reporters in London he had a big mountain to climb but would work hard for a place under Fiji coach Ben Ryan.
Hayne said he had made his decision to leave the NFL on Friday after receiving his Fijian passport.
The 28-year-old has not played sevens rugby before but said he had been in touch with friends for advice about making the transition.
Fiji will face England at 11.04pm Saturday in their first pool match of the London 7s.
