He has been called the "Player of the World" and Jarryd Hayne lived up to his name when he was crowned the Dally M Player of the Year.
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd presented the Parramatta fullback with his medal in a glittering ceremony at Sydney's State Theatre after Hayne was also named fullback of the year.
Haynes represented Fiji at the last Rugby League World Cup that was held in Australia, where they reached the semi finals and lost to the hosts.
Speaking Fijivillage from Australia, Haynes said he is overwhelmed to win the Award and it will definitely put Fiji on the World map.
Hayne picked up three points for every game from round 19 to round 24, against Melbourne, Bulldogs, Cronulla, Newcastle, the Warriors and West Tigers.
The medal will be a timely mental boost for the Eels who face the Dragons in a qualifying final that they must win to stay alive on Sunday.
